Andreas von Cotta-Schonberg Biography

Saturday, October 15th, 2011
Advocate illustration agency are really proud to represent new freelance illustrator Andreas von Cotta-Schonberg. Andreas specialises in realistic fantasy, portraying aliens, vikings, animals and rugged landscapes which will be perfect for art licensing, poster design, booksgraphic novels, and even greeting cards. His bio is posted below:
“There is so much you can say with the simple application of color and value to a surface, and I am a firm believer that any good piece of art should have something to say. A story if you will.

Not neccesarily the kind with a beginning and an ending, but stories that can be told in the blink of an eye, and in the reflections and emotions it leaves.

I believe, that being a good illustrator means walking a narrow path between developing and growing your skills, in order to convey your desired message or story, but also to have a curious and playful mind, in order to have something worth saying.
Stray too far to either side, and you risk losing focus on your actual task at hand, which should be to create beautiful and meaningful art.

I could be wrong, but still, this is where I strive to be.
Andreas von Cotta-Schonberg, age 35, Living and working out of Copenhagen, Denmark.”

Jason Juta Biography

Friday, February 11th, 2011

Jason Juta is a South-African born, free-lance illustrator now living in London, represented by Advocate art-illustration agency.

As a child Jason had a lot of parental support and encouragement to pursue his creative talents, which he is very grateful for. He then went on to study Graphic Design but it didn’t interest him as much as illustration, although he says he did learn a lot from his studies. Through his work Jason feels the drive to create and improve, but also wants the attention and respect of his peers – he says that perhaps a desire for glory isn’t the most noble motivation but he thinks most artists have at least some ego to massage!

Jason produces two styles of freelance illustration. The first is digitally painted fantasy art for the gaming industry (Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars and Warhammer for example). The second is personal work based on photography, with dark, mythic and gothic themes. For digital paintings Jason uses basic 3D to work out perspective, and for personal work he tries to paint in a traditional way.

Whilst painting Jason listens to art podcasts and fiction audiobooks. Otherwise, he prefers ‘underground’ and unusual music such as metal, indie, ambient, classical, rock of various types and hard electro.

Diego Gisbert Biography

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

Diego Gisbert is a Fantasy Artist represented by Advocate Art, illustration agency. He has been inspired form the moment he was born, taking his love of drawing from the magic of the 80’s, with all those cartoons, comics and movies. This probably meant he started drawing before he could read and so the passion lives on.

Most of Diego’s personal work is completed in traditional media yet nearly all of his professional work is created digitally, as he loves to work for videogames, miniature companies, card games and many other fantasy/sci-fi projects.

Diego loves learning new things and follows the philosophy ‘ the more you lives the more you learn (and the better your painting gets!)’. He tries to say yes to all new experiences, especially those involving sport adventures and nature. He also loves cats. “Everything is better with a cat on your lap”.
