I have really enjoyed my week with Advocate and the insight into the illustration industry I have gained. From when I arrived the friendly atmosphere and staff at advocate calmed my ‘fears’ allowing me to make the most of my time here. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to get hands-on experience using photoshop, and the tablets, as well as being able to have a go at drawing some line art using a light box, although my grasp of the smooth curve remains shaky! I feel that I have learnt a great deal about the process of getting an illustration published and being exposed to a wide variety of styles and mediums in which it can be presented led me to appreciate what a vastly diverse business illustration is. I also found that reading the biographies of artists who work with Advocate very inspiring and was intrigued to discover their artwork through using cumulus!
